Law Career Convention 2008 (LCC 2008)

Following the Legal Career Fair organised by KL Bar this February, we are going to participate in another legal career convention on 6 September 2008. This time we are invited by the United Kingdom Malaysian Student Law Union (KPUM), who orgainses this event together with the Law Society of University of Malaya, to partake in its annul legal event.

The detail of the legal career convention:

Date: 6 September 2008 (Saturday)

Venue: Law Faculty, University of Malaya

Time: 8am to 5pm

We were also told that there will be a series of legal seminars conducted through out the convention. Among others, the most interesting topic is the “Common Bar Examination” and eLawyer is invited to give our feedback and opinion at the end of the session.

Please drop by our booth located at the foyer of the UM law faculty to visit us or to just say hello to us.

Again, we will be giving out mystery gift for those who sign up at our booth.

Below is the letter sent to us by the organiser, which states the detail of the legal career convention:

LAW CAREER CONVENTION 2008 (LCC 2008)

The United Kingdom Malaysian Student Law Union, or the Kesatuan Penuntut Undang-undang Malaysia di UK dan Eire (KPUM) and the Law Society of University of Malaya are co-organising the annual Law Career Convention again this year. The tentative date and venue is as follows:
Date: 6th September 2008
Venue: Law Faculty, University of Malaya

2. Following the success in previous years, we once again seek to organise the Law Career Convention 2008 (LCC2008). With over 20 prestigious law firms and a few prominent companies participating last year, we look forward to attracting more students from both local and UK universities to make this event a bigger success than before.

3. Thus, this letter is to inform your college about the upcoming LCC 2008 as it would be extremely beneficial for the students from your college to attend this event.  As this would be an event that links the ‘present’ and the ‘future’ of our Malaysian Legal System. It will serve to provide a rare opportunity for Malaysian law and non-law students to gather information about their career prospects in the local legal scene. Firms too are interested in attracting talented applicants so students are more than welcomed to bring along their CVs as some firms may be holding on-the-spot interviews.

4. Should you have any further enquiries regarding the event, please do not hesitate to contact KPUM’s President, Miss Rachel Ng at xxxxx, KPUM’s Vice President, Miss Chervonne Wong at xxxxxor UM Law Society’s President, Miss Kiang Lee Lian at xxxxx. Alternatively, we can be reached by email at lawcareerconvention@gmail.com.

5. We hope to receive a reply from you as soon as possible as we would like to arrange an appointment to speak to your students regarding the event. We look forward to a favourable reply from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Rachel Ng,
Organising Committee of LCC 2008
