Senior Associate / Partner (Conveyancing) (Johor Bahru)

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established boutique law firm with a strong presence across Malaysia. As part of their continued growth and expansion of their conveyancing practice, they are looking to strengthen their Johor Bahru office with an experienced legal professional.

About the Role

They are seeking a Senior Associate or Partner-level candidate with strong sub-sale conveyancing experience to anchor and lead the conveyancing function at the JB office.

This role is ideal for a mature practitioner who enjoys hands-on legal work while also playing a leadership role in mentoring juniors and contributing to the stability and growth of the office.

The successful candidate may be considered for Partnership, depending on experience, seniority and long-term alignment with the firm.

Responsibilities

• Handle sub-sale conveyancing matters independently (end-to-end)
• Supervise, mentor, and guide junior lawyers and clerks
• Review work to ensure quality, accuracy and compliance
• Liaise with clients, banks, agents, developers and authorities
• Act as a senior point of reference within the Johor Bahru office
• Support the firm in strengthening and growing its conveyancing practice

Requirements

• 6 to 15 years PQE (flexible for technically strong candidates)
• Solid, hands-on experience in sub-sale conveyancing
• Proven ability to work independently and manage files end-to-end
• Comfortable in supervisory and mentoring capacity
• Malaysian-qualified Advocate & Solicitor
• Mandarin-speaking is an added advantage (to liaise with clients)
