Construction Partner / Senior Legal Associate

Overview

A leading global law firm is seeking a highly driven Construction Partner or Senior Legal Associate to join its growing practice in Malaysia.

This is an excellent opportunity for construction law practitioners looking to work on high-value, complex, and cross-border matters involving infrastructure, engineering, energy, and major development projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on construction and engineering disputes, including arbitration, adjudication, and litigation matters
• Handle complex construction claims involving EOT, LAD, payment disputes, defects, and performance bond matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate construction-related agreements and project documentation
• Provide strategic legal and commercial advice to developers, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders
• Support dispute avoidance strategies and project risk management
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to business development initiatives

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with strong academic credentials
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in construction disputes and advisory work
• Experience in arbitration, adjudication (including CIPAA), and court litigation
• Strong drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills
• Commercially minded with the ability to work in a fast-paced international environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
