Provide practical and commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders across various business functions.
Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of contracts, agreements and other legal documentation relating to areas such as insurance, property, finance, employment and general commercial matters.
Identify potential legal and regulatory risks and recommend appropriate measures to manage and mitigate such risks.
Provide legal support for corporate exercises, business initiatives and regulatory submissions, where required.
Coordinate and work with external legal counsel on legal matters and monitor the progress and quality of services provided.
Support the development and enhancement of legal policies, procedures, guidelines, templates and standard documentation.
Ensure business activities and legal matters are handled in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies and governance requirements.
Work closely with different business units and cross-functional teams to provide legal input and facilitate business objectives.
Support the Head of Legal and the wider Legal team on legal, regulatory and corporate matters as required.
Leverage technology and digital tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of legal and compliance processes.
Undertake other legal-related responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
Job Requirements
Possess a recognised Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and relevant professional legal qualifications.
Qualified lawyer with relevant post-qualification of 7 to 10 years, preferably in financial services or insurance.
Strong experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements and providing general corporate and commercial legal advice.
Good understanding of applicable laws, regulatory requirements, corporate governance and legal risk management.
Able to provide practical, business-oriented legal solutions while effectively managing legal and regulatory risks.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able to work collaboratively across different business functions and manage multiple matters independently.
Comfortable using technology and digital tools to enhance legal and compliance functions.
Candidates with legal experience in the insurance industry or exposure to insurance-related matters will be given priority.
