About Our Client

Our client is an established law firm in Malaysia with a practice focused on civil and commercial litigation matters. The firm is currently seeking a Legal Associate (Litigation) to join its litigation practice.

This is a good opportunity for a young lawyer with 0–2 years of PQE who is looking to build a strong foundation in litigation, gain exposure to a broad range of contentious matters and further develop their legal drafting, research and advocacy skills.

The Role

As a Legal Associate (Litigation), you will be involved in a broad range of civil and commercial litigation matters and will work closely with partners and senior lawyers.

You will gain practical exposure to various aspects of litigation, including legal research, drafting, case managements, hearings, trials and client matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle and assist in a broad range of civil and commercial litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research and prepare cause papers, written submissions, legal opinions and correspondence.
• Attend case managements, hearings and trials.
• Manage assigned files, clients and court deadlines.
• Assist partners and senior lawyers in complex litigation matters.

Requirements

• Malaysian-qualified lawyer with 0–2 years of PQE in litigation.
• Experience in civil litigation will be an advantage.
• Chinese language proficiency is preferred.
• Hardworking, proactive and responsible.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to manage multiple files and work effectively under pressure.
• Strong legal drafting, research and communication skills.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
