Meet Our Founder -
Eddie Law

Eddie is a lawyer by training, and he practiced law before he became a well-known recruiter in Malaysia and the region. After he was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2003, he started practicing law with a reputable law firm before he moved on to an in-house counsel position with an IT company after leaving private practice.

The Vision Behind eLawyer

In 2007, he started an online law portal called eLawyer at www.eLawyer.com.my, and he has never looked back since. He was blessed with the unique vision to set up the first-of-its-kind website providing combined legal job board listing service and executive search service.

Unique Legal Insights

Eddie’s experience as a lawyer both in private practice and in-house position gives him unique insights into the technicalities of legal recruitment and understanding the requirements of both employers and candidates. He remains convinced that his professional journey enables him to make a better match between an employer and a candidate.

Mentorship & Leadership

He is passionate about finding talent and making successful matches. He is always keen to share his thoughts and experience about career issues in the legal sector especially when it concerns young and potential lawyers. He also excels in building leadership skills in experienced lawyers. Apart from legal recruitment, Eddie is also passionate about legal technology. He was part of the initial batch of lawyers and professionals in Malaysia who were involved in promoting the adoption of technology in the legal sector in Malaysia.

He was active in giving talks on legal technology and being interviewed on this topic. Published articles at various state Bar and law school magazines. Eddie’s articles on Linkedin attracted more than 3,000 followers.

Publications

Contributed to a book entitled
“To be or Not to be… a Lawyer” describing the journey of becoming a lawyer. Eddie’s chapter entitled “The Option” outlines the career options for lawyers. Published articles at various state Bar and law school magazines.

Coaching

Eddie is a certified coach and is always engaged by law firms to coach their partners and lawyers in leadership, business development and managerial skills. He is also passionate in career and life coaching.

Awarded the Runner Up of Vice Chancellor’s Outstanding Alumni Awards: Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2016 from Anglia Ruskin University, UK.
