Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities :
1. Commercial Contract Management:
-Draft, review and advise on a wide range of commercial and operational contracts, including procurement and supply agreements, services agreements, construction and project-related contracts (including EPCC where applicable) variation orders, supplemental agreements and amendments inter-company agreements
- Ensure contractual terms align with approved commercial positions and Group risk appetite.
2. Contract Advisory & Support
-Provide day-to-day legal support to SBUs, project teams and internal stakeholders on contractual interpretation, rights and obligations.
-Assist in identifying contractual risks and propose practical mitigation measures.
3. Contract Lifecycle Management
-Support contract execution, variation management and post-award administration.
-Assist in managing contractual issues such as claims, extensions of time, LAD exposure and termination triggers, under the guidance of the Senior Manager.
4. Stakeholder & Counterparty Engagement
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, counterparties and external advisers on contract-related matters.
- Support negotiations with vendors, contractors and consultants under supervision.
5. Standard Templates & Continuous Improvement
- Assist in the development, maintenance and implementation of Group-standard contract templates and clauses.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of contract processes and legal documentation.
6. Dispute Prevention & Support
- Support dispute avoidance through clear drafting and early identification of issues.
Requirements
Key Requirements
1. Possess a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or an equivalent qualification.
2. Called to the Bar or admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor.
3. Have 5-7 years of post-qualification experience.
4. Preferably experienced in:
- In-house legal roles
- Commercial and/or construction practice
- Project-based industries
5. Prior experience within a group structure or public-listed company environment will be an added advantage.
6. Sound knowledge of commercial and contract law
7. Practical drafting and contract review capability
8. Good understanding of governance and approval framework
9. Commercially aware and solutions-oriented
10. Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
11. Able to manage multiple matters with minimal supervision
